Coat type: Semi-long, soft, coat.
Coat colours and body type: This is a very new crossbreed of the Himalayan and the Tonkinese, having only been bred for approximately 18 to 25 years. Their semi-long coat in mink is the desired outcome, however, results have produced shades ranging from off white to a deep brown. The pointing may be minimal or highly pronounced.
Grooming required: Low - weekly brush.
Similar Breeds: Himalayan, Tonkinese, Persian.
Health Profile: No known genetic predispositions given its status as a very new crossbreed. Genetic diseases likely amongst this hybrid due to unsupervised breeding currently occurring.
Layanese temperament
Much like its parentage, the Layanese is a devoted and loyal pet. May be described as dog-like for their high need for attention and company. Much like the Tonkinese, this breed may be mischievous if left to their own devices.
