Coat type: Both long and short hair varieties have plush, all-weather coats, that are silky in appearance. Munchkin's may appear in any colour or coat pattern and their eyes may be any colour.

Coat colours and body type: This medium sized cat has extremely short legs and a long spine. They have a thick tubular body with a broad chest.  They have long or short coats with a plumed tail.  

Grooming required: Moderate - weekly brush (more if arthritic or for longhair varieties).

Similar Breeds: This is a unique breed.

Munchkin temperament

This cat breed resembles the canine Dachshund breed for its pronounced short legs. They are exceedingly sweet natured and curious, and exhibit a particularly playful demeanour. They are able to run at great speed despite their relatvely short legs.
