Coat type: Long, thick coat with a mane-like ruff surrounding its head. They also have a thick, plumed tail.

Coat colours and body type: Persian cats are medium to large in size with a 'cobby', well-muscled body. They have short, stocky legs and large, round heads. Their faces are flat with large round eyes, a small nose and ears that tilt forward. Persian cats are known for their white colour but  also come in black, blue, red, cream and lilac, as well as a range of patterns. Eye colours  vary and are dependant on coat colour. 

Grooming required: High maintanence, daily grooming due to their long, flowing coat.

Persian temperament

Persians are one of the most popular cat breeds. They are calm and slightly reserved at times. Given their stature, they arent the most active breed. Their perfect day involes draping over the couch. They make loving companions and enjoy giving affection to their owners. Persian cats are quiet creatures of habit. They mix well with children and other pets, but do enjoy being the focus of attention. They make for the perfect pet cat. This breed does best as an indoor cat.
