A little about the Brittany Spaniel

The Brittany Spaniel is an energetic, good-natured member of the spaniel family. Affectionate, obedient and dedicated to their family, if given enough exercise they can make fantastic companions.

Brittany Spaniels are generally healthy dogs. They can experience problems in the development of their hips (Canine Hip Dysplasia) and elbows (Canine Elbow Dysplasia), epilepsy and hypothyroidism. Less commonly they may develop eye problems resulting in blindness, such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) or lens luxation. Given they are a dog that requires intensive physical and mental stimulation, if this is not provided they may develop destructive behaviours.

Please be advised the information provided is purely an indicator of breed traits and characteristics and that within some breeds there can be significant variation.
