The Catahoula Leopard Dog is the state dog of Louisiana. They are a working dog breed and can make excellent guard dogs who are very protective of children. This can be an issue with strangers, but with socialisation and training, the breed can make good family pets.
LOUISIANA CATAHOULA LEOPARD DOG HEALTH INFORMATION
This breed is predisposed to Canine Hip Dysplasia and Deafness. They are also at risk of obesity, especially when overfed.
