A little about the Miniature Maltese
The Miniature Maltese or "Teacup Maltese" is not technically recognised as a breed, but rather is a very small Maltese. Like the Maltese, they are spritely, playful, affectionate, and curious companions. As they are often created by breeding Maltese pups with dwarfism or runts, they are prone to multiple health conditions. Likewise, their petite size can make them prone to misadventure.
MINIATURE MALTESE HEALTH INFORMATION
The Miniature Maltese is predisposed to multiple health conditions due to the manner in which it has been bred, where they can be affected by dwarfism. Other health conditions include: Patellar Luxation, Open Fontanelle, Hypoglycaemia, Hydrocephalus, Distichiasis, Entropian, Peridontal Disease, Congenital Cardiac Defects, Hypothyroidism, and Portosystemic Shunts.
