Coat type: There are three coat variations: "smooth coat" with a glossy short coat, "rough coat" with a longer protective double coat and a "broken coat" with more course hairs.

Coat colours: Red, chocolate,  liver or bronze, black and tan, *Coats may be grizzled.

Originally bred for: Hunting red foxes.

Breed traits: Bold, energetic, intelligent, confident.

 

A little about the Patterdale Terrier

 

Each village of the English Lake District developed their own terrier, with the Patterdale Terrier originating from the village of Patterdale. It is an energetic, playful, terrier who loves to run and fetch. However, they do require exercise or can become frustrated and destructive.
